What should we prepare before production of PVC pipes?

1.Building for factory
After clients choose the required PVC pipe production line, Engineers from SHARC will offer plant sizes for clients. Also Sharc can supply factory layout design service, it will show exactly about machines position, water, air and electricity information.

2.Materials
Main materials for PVC pipe extrusion is PVC resin and calcium carbonate and additives, according to different applications of PVC pipe, the formula will be different, if clients don’t know formulation of PVC pipe production, Sharc will send reference to them as reference.

Working Process
  1. Raw material preparation:
Weigh the raw materials such as PVC resin, stabilizer, lubricant, filler, pigment and other raw materials according to formula. This process can be automatic or manually, depends on clients demand.
  1. Mixing
Feed materials into mixer and mix all materials well according to right time and temperature.
  1. Extrusion
The extruder heats and plasticizes the raw materials in the hopper and extrude them into a tube from the die. The speed of the PVC pipe extruder and the size of the die will affect the wall thickness and size of the pipe.
  1. Vacuum Shaping and cooling
The extruded tube is shaped by a vacuum shaping box or a spray water tank. The vacuum shaping box uses vacuum to balance the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the tube so that the tube maintains a certain size. The spray water tank uses water flow to cool and shape the tube.
  1. Traction/Haul off
The shaped tube is pulled out at a certain speed by a traction machine. The speed of the traction machine will affect the length and thickness of the tube.
  1. Cutting
Cut the pulled tube into the required length. Tools such as saws and scissors can be used for cutting.
  1. Pipe Belling process
When pipe need do U, R or rectangle mouse for connection, then this step is necessary.
  1. Inspection
The pipe is inspected for appearance and performance to ensure that the quality of the tube meets the standards. The appearance inspection includes checking whether there are cracks, bubbles, scratches and other defects on the surface of the tube. The performance test includes checking the tensile strength, burst strength, weather resistance and other properties of the tube.
  1. Packaging
Package qualified pipes and then store or ship them. Packaging can be done in plastic bags, cartons, wooden boxes, etc. The production process of PVC pipes involves a variety of equipment and processes, and strict quality control is required to produce qualified pipes.
  1. Recycling
If some pipes not meet the requirements, then they will be crushed, milled and recycled.

To reduce the cost of production, now more and more clients are using co-extrusion for PVC pipe production, it is multilayer PVC pipes, the middle layer is cheap materials, outer layers are good materials for hardness and good looking. Eventually it helps to reduce the product manufacturing cost. This process will need two extruder machines or more.
  4. Screw speed, Barrel temperature, Mold temperature, Traction speed, Cooling temperature are important for getting high quality PVC pipes.
